VILLA IVE

In the picturesque village of the island of Krk called Vrh (5 km in distance from the centre of the town Krk) located within the hills (237 m above sea level), there is an old stone house built in 1939., and decorated with a coastal stone and old stone vaults.

After a long period of time and the exchange of three generations that have grown up in this house, the present actual owners of this old stone house are giving a new dimension and elevation to its higher level, without subtracting its native marine soul, but on the contrary, the historic centre of the village Vrh in 2019. is truly enriched with this Villa that owns even a private swimming pool, called "Villa Ive".

During the restoration, the owner took into account every detail of the coastal stone and wood, giving to the Villa all its pleasure and warmth.

The ground floor of the Villa Ive consists of a living room with kitchen and dining room, toilet and an old cistern (tank), where the owner will arrange in the next year the relax zone with steam bath, infrared sauna and shower cabin, to make this old stone house an ideal choice for lovers passionate of relaxation.

The internal wooden stairs, close to a thick stone wall, are leading to the first floor, which has two bedrooms and each one with its own private bathroom.

The attic of the house, accessible through the internal stairs, has two bedrooms each with its own private bathroom, and one of them has a beautiful bath that gives a special charm and invites you to relax. Between the rooms, a balcony surprisingly comes out enclosed by a wall of old bricks, and offers a beautiful view of the nearby village of Kosic and the parish church of St. Michael.

From the terrace on the first floor and from the French windows in the attic, which overlook the surrounding hills and nature of the village of Vrh, as well as the mountain wreath surroundings of the Kvarner Bay, in sunsets the view becomes the most beautiful in a romantic atmosphere and the colour of the sky is warm, with hints of pink over orange to red colour.

Only a tall stone wall of the garden separates Villa Ive from the chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, which shares the same history of the house. This is the story of the two brothers Stjepan and Ivan, children of the rich and large family Žužić.

Brother Stjepan vowed to raise the chapel on his own family land if he returns from World War One. He fulfilled his promise in 1940 along with other locals with similar vows. His brother Ivan built this stone house in 1939 for his son Stjepan and his wife Ana (born) Mrakovčić (her maiden surname). Unfortunately, the Second World War broke out where Stjepan died and Ana gave birth to their first child, daughter Josipa only several months after her husband died in war. After 7 years she re-married to Stjepan's brother Anton Žužić, who lived in this house and gave birth to their five children.

Today in Villa Ive, the feeling & sense of youth, home and beloved past of the Villa is revived by the lovely sound of bells in the chapel of Our Lady of Lurd, three times a day with a harmonious ring.

Villa Ive is surrounded by a stone wall that guarantees privacy to anyone who enjoys its amenities.

The yard of the Villa is adorned with an outdoor pool of 28 m2 with 8 deck chairs, an outdoor fireplace and a large table for 10 people!

Villa Ive's owners are looking forward with joy to every guest who wants to enjoy this picturesque village on the island of Krk.
